Five on Friday: Top Five Parenting Pet Peeves

1. Being called Mrs. My-Husband’s-Last-Name (bonus points for the teacher that asked me “But what should I tell the children??” about my last name being different than my son’s.)
2. When children are taught to say “it’s okay” when someone apologizes for bad behavior (No it’s not okay that someone kicked you, don’t say it is.)
3. Having to make the grown-up decisions, like canceling hotly anticipated plans because of a sickish kid
4. Coming up with appropriate consequences, especially as the kids get older.
5. Those rotten kids never stay the age I want them to stay.
